Alexander Volkanovski is the UFC featherweight champion.
He won the vacant featherweight title against Diego Lopes at UFC 314 on April 12, 2025, and defended it twice. The defenses were a decision over Lopes at UFC 325 on February 1, 2026, and a second-round stoppage of Movsar Evloev at UFC 333 on October 24, 2026.
The first reign began with a decision over Max Holloway at UFC 245 on December 14, 2019. He lost that belt by knockout to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 on February 17, 2024. The other three losses are a decision and a knockout to Islam Makhachev, and a stoppage against Corey Nelson in 2013.
Wollongong is his birthplace, and the UFC lists his camp as Freestyle Fighting Gym. He was playing rugby league when he started training in 2011, and he left high school a few weeks into year 11 to work in the family concreting business. The UFC lists titles in PXC, AFC, WARS MMA, RMMA, and Cage Conquest, and he turned pro in 2012.
