Kayla Harrison is the UFC women's bantamweight champion.
She won the women’s bantamweight title against Julianna Peña at UFC 316 on June 7, 2025, by kimura in the second round. She has not defended it. The bout booked against Amanda Nunes for November 14, 2026, is after this filing date.
The only loss is a decision to Larissa Pacheco in the 2022 PFL women’s lightweight final. She won that tournament in 2019 and 2021. Eight of the wins are submissions, four of them armbars.
Middletown is her birthplace, and she trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek. She started judo at six, won Olympic gold in 2012 and 2016, and won a world title in 2010. At 16 she moved to Boston to train at Pedro’s Judo Center, and she worked landscaping, dog walking, assistant jobs, and a hardware store. She started MMA training after the 2016 Olympics and turned pro in 2018.
